Follow the star paved road
68 ans après la sortie du Magicien d’Oz, les Munchkins ont reçu hier, mardi leur étoile sur le Hollywood Walk of Fame. Cet honneur est le résultat d’une campagne menée par Ted Bulthaup, directeur de salles de cinéma à Chicago qui avait obtenu le soutien de Mickey Rooney mais également de Steven Spielberg et George Lucas. Ce dernier avait écrit à ce sujet: "With their joyous send-off for Dorothy as she began her journey down the Yellow Brick Road, the Munchkins secured their place in Hollywood history and in the hearts of movie fans everywhere."
Trois (Jerry Maren, Mickey Carroll and Karl Slover) des sept Muchkins presents lors de la remise de l’étoile, ont profité de leur passage à Hollywood pour aller soutenir la grève des scénaristes.
